FabLab München e.V.
Das FabLab München ist ein gemeinnütziger Verein, der allen Interessierten eine innovative Arbeitsumgebung in Form einer „Offenen Werkstatt“ bereitstellt. Bei geringer monatlicher Gebühr bekommen Mitglieder Zugriff auf die FabLab-Werkstatt mit ihrer Ausstattung an computergesteuerten Produktionsmaschinen.
Wir wollen unsere Räumlichkeiten aber nicht nur Mitgliedern zur Verfügung stellen, sondern diese auch für Interessierte und Schulklassen im Rahmen von Workshops, Kursen, Vorträgen und Ausstellungen öffnen. Kinderprogramm / Erwachsenenprogramm
Das Besondere am FabLab München ist, dass der Verein mit seiner Werkstatt und seinen Bildungsräumen auch im 12. Jahr des Bestehens fast komplett ehrenamtlich geführt wird. Das heißt aber auch, dass wer Mitglied wird, sich auch ein wenig einbringen darf, denn für den Vorstand ist das Ganze nicht alleine zu meistern.
Die Fab Charter
Es gibt weltweit viele FabLabs und alle sehen anders aus. Sie haben unterschiedliche Organisationsformen, finanzieren sich anders und ihr Fokus liegt auf unterschiedlichen Themen.

knowledge: contributing to documentation and instruction
Who owns fab lab inventions?
Designs and processes developed in fab labs can be protected and sold however an inventor chooses, but should remain available for individuals to use and learn from
How can businesses use a fab lab?
Commercial activities can be prototyped and incubated in a fab lab, but they must not conflict with other uses, they should grow beyond rather than within the lab, and they are expected to benefit the inventors, labs, and networks that contribute to their success
